Time for Upgrades
When we started Brite, we began with a very small instance of hosting hardware and software. However, our customer base keeps growing and our hosted services keep expanding. As we continue to grow, we realized that our backend infrastructure and services must grow faster to meet the growing needs or our customers today and for the future. When Brite was founded in 2011, we started with just a couple of servers dedicated to web hosting. Their role was simply to serve up web pages for our customers, but as we grew, they started to slow and show signs of age (3 years in server age is kinda old).
During the final part of 2013 and into early 2014 we embarked on an upgrade path that has expanded our server footprint. We now have 10x the memory capability, 15x the CPU cycles, and an even larger storage capacity. This upgrade will allow us to serve our existing customers and many many more new customers that we hope to support in 2014 and beyond.
In addition to hardware upgrades, we have also taken a major step forward with our web software programming. Any site that is built and hosted by Brite (or through our partnerships) will now have Web Browser Caching programmed in and turned on. This caching technology will allow for dramatically faster page loading for visitors to websites hosted on our servers.
We continue to invest in the future of our customers web presence and are confident that all these upgrades will keep Brite current for years to come.
